We had a wonderful trip to Vancouver, British Columbia. I loved seeing the totem poles and the remarkable carvings found throughout this part of the Pacific Northwest.
The scale, storytelling, and relationship between the wood and the surrounding place were inspiring. The visit gave me new ideas about how relief, wildlife, landscape, and regional character can work together in future pieces.
Experiences like this are a reminder that carving is both personal and connected to long traditions. I came home excited to keep learning and to carry that inspiration into my own work with care and respect.
